YEEEEEEEEEEHAW!!!! Howdy to all my rowdy friends out there! Yeah, "The Rebel" is still alive & well... But I am pissed about some things! First off, I'm pissed about the state of Indy wrestling today! There are too many untrained kids out there pretending to be "pros!" I'm not mentioning any names right now because they know who they are... People that claim they were trained by certain Pros, & or trained at schools that they never attended, & or worked for promotions they never worked for... These people are dangerous to this sport! Because they don't know what they are doing, & it shows! Eventually they will meet up w/ a real pro, & then it will be obvious... Ok, there is an old saying: "Fake it till you make it." But in Pro Wrestling this is very dangerous to both the "Fake" & the pro! I know there are some lame feds out there that allow untrained wanna be's to show up on show day, & then put a card together 5 minutes before show time! But their shows only draw 10 fans or less on a weekly basis! I guess they think quantity is better than quality...
I was trained "Old School" style. In my day, a student learned from a real pro! Someone that had actually made it in Big Time Wrestling! You trained hard everyday, & accepted constructive critics. Nowadays, when a pro offers a rookie advice on ring psychology, the kid gets mad, & never wants to work with the pro again! This shows what a sad state the indy feds are in today! Because these kids with a "Bad Attitude" will just remain bad wrestlers! Those that take the advice from a much superior athlete will improve & make something of themselves! You can't argue with experience!
Another thing that is missing from most indy feds today is the old "Kayfabe" rules! In my day, I would never get a ride to the show with my opponent! Even if he was my best friend! I would also never be seen in the parking lot being "buddy's with my opponent that I had just beat up in the ring!
Then you have the internet marks who just sit at their computers & hack away at tearing everyone down. These destructive marks like to pass time just rambling on with little or no knowledge of this business. Most of them are children or teenagers who have no perspective of the business.
This brings my point again about untrained "workers!" In my day, they were called wrestlers! Workers means your doing a "work" that is not real! I recently saw a so called wrestlers website that boasted that he rode to the show with his opponent & enjoyed "working" him in the match! What an idiot! This kid knows nothing about the business, & will continue to work for little or no money! In my day, you would be "blackballed" for saying that! No promoter worth anything would book you for breaking kayfabe! But there are plenty of lame feds out there today that will allow anyone to wrestle, NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! I guess this helps the Back Yard wanna-be's & fakes, but it really hurts REAL Pro Wrestlers & REAL Promoters!
